Planet Sustainability opens a virtual world on November 19, 2020 from 09:00 – 17:30 where there is a sustainable business solution for all current social, environmental and economic challenges. By bringing together innovators and start-ups, the virtual emporium aims to promote the sale of sustainable business solutions and support the development of our economy in the sense of a green recovery. Planet Sustainability is guided by the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (17 SDGs).
The idea for Planet Sustainability was born as a way for B2B start-ups to help themselves during the global pandemic 2020 and action against the global climate crisis.
Innovators feel the pressure of the climate crisis. They need to become more sustainable and reduce their carbon footprint to be strong for the future. The possible linking of economic stimulus packages and sustainability goals increases the pressure even more. Often, however, those responsible in companies lack an overview of sustainable solutions that already exist. Start-ups, on the other hand, have to struggle with projects being on hold, budgets being frozen and events where new business contacts would otherwise have been made being cancelled. Since most young companies have not yet been able to build up any great financial reserves, many are therefore quickly running out of steam.
This is where Planet Sustainability comes in. The online B2B event brings innovators looking for solutions to make their companies more sustainable together with start-ups that offer precisely such solutions. Planet Sustainability is aimed specifically at innovators with decision-making authority and budget responsibility as well as start-ups with sustainable B2B solutions that have already been tested in the market.
All participants will meet on November 19, 2020 on a digital event platform. Targeted matchmaking will bring together the right business partners. In their individual “hit list”, participants can see what percentage of a start-up or innovator matches them. To facilitate the start of the talks, there are formats such as speed networking, where participants have six short talks with randomly selected people from their “hit list”.
This year, Planet Sustainability will mainly feature actors with the following main topics:
- Sustainable & Energy Efficient Buildings
- Climate-friendly mobility & vehicle fleets
- Human and environmentally friendly manufacturing & production
- Resource-efficient materials management & logistics
- Social-ecological investments & use of funds
- Certifications, seals & CO² compensation
- Regenerative energy production & supply
- Alternative agriculture, food production & supply
